About Us

Thirty Years in the Making

I’m Abhishek Sengupta, I've been quizzing for the better part of thirty years — and it started young. In school, I founded the quiz club because I couldn't get enough of the buzz of a good question. That obsession followed me to Hindu College, where I became a prominent member and eventually president of the college quiz society.

As captain, I led the team all the way to the finals of University Challenge on BBC — in the show's very first year on Indian screens. Along the way, I also worked with the research teams behind Mastermind India and Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), one of the highest-watched shows in Indian television history — building the very questions that had millions of viewers shouting answers at their TVs.

For the last twenty years, I've hosted the All India Padampat Singhania Memorial Science Quiz, and somewhere in between all of that, I never really stopped hosting pub quizzes for the sheer fun of it.
